I was wondering if you guys could help me find some colleges to visit summer. Here's my rap:
I want to eventually get a MD. However, I am not planning on going into pre-med for my undergrad. Instead I want to get a bachelor's degree in accounting or economics. I'm looking for universities, for my undergrad, which will be respected by graduate medical programs. I live in Illinois, but I'm open to universities all over the country. Size is not a huge factor, but over 25,000 undergrads is kind of big for me. Rural or Urban. Highly Selective to Most Selective.
Thanks for any help that can be provided.

Private or public? Does money factor in?

Most schools do not offer pre-med as a major. You can major in anything you like, as long as you take the required pre-med courses.

Thanks Candi. Val, I prefer Public, but if a private school really and I mean really caught my eye I would be willing to get loans and pay them off later. Money would factor in, which is why I might lean toward public, unless I really fell in love with a private institution. Thanks for your help.
