rice? nice. i applied, didnt get in. one hell of a difficult school. try to get outside once in a while. ;)

i lived in h-town fro 13 years; nice place, a lot to offer, but hot and somewhat boring. its gotten better since i lef.t

now I need help: i jsut got back from seeing miami. i loved it. they did give me a scholarship which was a total surprise.

anyway, i have to decide between miami and tulane. suggestions?

3. Location Location Location (New Orleans)
a. art galleries
b. jazz music
c. the urban culture
d. european architecture
e. "The Big Easy" - lacks east coast high strungness
f. a HUGE park across the street
g. SEAFOOD!!!

4. Amazing faculty that cares
5. Cool languages offered (ex: Arabic!)
5. No grade deflation
6. honors program
7. diversity
8. Recreation center (AM-AZE-ING!)
9. a Cricket club
10. medium sized place - not too small or too big
11. Prestigious grad schools
12. Part of "Southern Consortium" along with Vandy, WL, Emory, Davidson, URich and more!
13. Great academics
14. Great social life
15. Rising reputation and rankings (i think/hope)


Some of the reasons are why I chose it and may not apply to you but I guess this isnt a bad list.

One thing about New Orleans: it gets old fast. My friend moved out there a couple years ago and I visit about 2 times a year and I can honestly say if it wasn't for my friend I would want to get out of NO as soon as humanly possible.

Hi Caliel:

We are from Portland, Oregon. Bonnie is thinking about East. She wants the relatively quiet nights of a substance free dorm. On the campus tour, a guide (who lived in sub free) said that the great thing about it was that people didn't come in and throw up in the dorm rooms or bathrooms there.

Where in Mass? We have relatives in Amherst, and friends in Waylon.
