I am from Hawaii HS. Currently, I got accepted to UMichi and UCSD out of state. I am not sure which one should I choose. I am going to major in anything related to science. Which one should I choose?

Mishi, depends on your major. Being from Hawai'i, how prepared are you for a Mid-western winter!? Academically and socially, Michigan is by far the superior choice. It is on par with UC Berkeley and Univ of Va as one of the best public universities in the nation. The quality of education there is equal to some of the top Ivys. That said, UCSD has an excellent rep in the sciences, esp the biological (pre-med) and marine sciences (the Scripps Institute is there). The campus life is not as lively as Ann Arbor's, UCSD is a sprawling campus without that traditional feel of college that UMich has. But the weather will be easier to handle and the academics are still very good...
