Does anyone know if UCSB offers a good history program? If not, would it be a good school to attend for undergraduate studies in history?

I'd suggest you go to the web page of each of the UC's and look up the history department site. Read through the courses offered, the backgrounds of the teachers, special programs, etc. You'll get a pretty good idea of what's what that way.

Santa Barbara is fine for history. Also good are UC Davis, UCLA, UCSD, and UCB. If you want some other non-UC suggestions, let me know.
