What do people think about university of San Francisco? Is it a good school? Is it good for people who want to go to medical school? What do you think

USF is a jesuit (Catholic) school. Attractive campus, attracts a very diverse student body. Academics are so-so - lots of complaints about lack of upper division courses, difficulty getting into upper division courses, etc.
Only 50% of students graduate within four years.
In my opinion, there are other much better schools for pre-med. USF sends only 2% of graduating seniors on to medical school - a very low number.
If you want to be in the San Francisco area, look at St. Mary's College of California or Santa Clara University for pre-med (and of course Stanford or UCBerkeley!). They are much better schools. Another possibility would be San Francisco State University, but it's more of a commuter school.

While USF is not a great choice for pre-med it is a wonderful place to sample diversity first hand and to experince one of the most exciting cities in the United States. You can really get a feel of "The City"

So what is USF known for? surely it must have at least one specialty? just wondering cuz they offered me $16K/yr scholarship, which is not looking too bad right now

USF has decent programs in business, economics, psychology and nursing. Again, look at the number of upper level classes actually offered in a typical semester in the subject area you are interested in --- they post their schedules on their web site.

being an undergrad at usf could give you a foot in the door to the usf law school. The city of San Franciso has a large number of law offices public and private to move on to

Haithman is giving you good advice. If the cost of going to UCB and the cost of USF are within a few thousand dollars, go to Berkeley. Money isn't everything.
Of course, that's just my opinion.
