can someone please explain to me about NYU's school of general studies. a friend of mine was rejected from arts and sciences but accepted to that. i just think it looks like a community college. is it very possible to transfer to NYU after 2 years in the general studies program, or would it be best to go to a regular college for 2 years and then try to transfer to NYU?
thanks

The GSP is NYU - it's just a different part of it. Basically, you take a core curriculum(with some electives, i *think*, not sure on that though) for GSP students at NYU, and then, after two years of that, you finish the rest of your two years of college in the original NYU School to which you applied (CAS, whatever). You're basically guaranteed into NYU after those two years(if you pass the courses and everything, of course), so if you go to a different community college and then try to transfer to NYU, you may not get in. The latter, however, would probably be cheaper, and with a good GPA, you'd most likely be accepted. Hope that made sense and helps a little bit.
