What's the deal with Trinity? Is it that good a school? A lot of ppl say it's over-rated. They have pretty impressive Alumni... someone on this board once compared it to Hampshire! Is it really not that good? I think it may get results... like banking and consulting jobs out of college. Plus the Wall Street Journal feeder school rank was impressive.

The reason I am asking is bc I might transfer there. I am at Franklin & Marshall College now (very good school by the way), but would like a more "business" oriented liberal arts school. Trinity has a beautiful campus and good career services (from what I know), but is it the school I should transfer to??

Does any have a suggestion about a business oriented smaller school? One gets its students elite jobs in business. Anyone!! please help. hah

My brother attended Trinity in lieu of Harvard and Penn because of a near full-ride. I don't think he has any regrets as he's doing very well and is quite active in the alumni assoc.

One of my Ds is a Sr at Trinity. She also looked at F&M. She absolutely loves the school, fellow students, crew team, great and accessable profs. The academic/internship/work possibilities and connections are superb. The disadvantage? Trinity is in the midst of Hartford and it's not a great city. Still, Trinity is embracing the city rather than walling itself off from the city (think Vassar and Poughkeepsie). Also, a wonderful new president at trinity, formerly pres of kalamazoo college. good guy.

It's not a perfect place, but for the right person, the contacts and possibilities are very impressive.

Dr. Hersh is the new president of Trinity, who was most recently pres of Hobart & William Smith. I bet he's getting right to work on the town/gown situation, which is kind of the Achilles heel of Trinity from everything I've heard...its always "Great school! Rough area though...."

...And isn't the newly elected mayor of Hartford a recently former Trinity Coll employee (community relations liason or something)?

Sooky - Dr. Hersh didn't last very long. James Jones Jr. is the newest president.

Really? You're kidding! That's got to be a record. . . feels like I just read it not long ago.
