IU is way better. It is ranked 10th by U.S News & World Report for ugrad business. Who even knows if GWU is good enough to get ranked. IU is really big and there are a whole lot of frats/sororities. But the campus doesn't revolve around them. There are too many people there for that to happen.

Sorry but GW is way overrated and quite frankly sucks (not literally i just hate the school). IU is beautiful and amazing and I could go on forever talking about it. Definately go there.

I'm extremely surprised at what's been posted in this thread.
I may be biased (since my mom went to GW for her masters and I live in DC) but I think you ought to strongly consider GWU. As a revision I actually live in Bethesda, basically a suburb yuppie town of DC slightly north in Maryland (sidenote: Bethesda is apparently, according to a recent article I saw, the most well-educated city in the nation, hahaha). Bethesda is okay, but the actual city of DC and esp the area where GW is located is AWESOME. I love DC. I can tell you that GW does not really have a centralized campus - it's sprinkled throughout the city, which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your preferences. I can't imagine the difference between being in DC and being in Bloomington in terms of connections. I'm sure GW could set you up with crazy internships and stuff in the city, DC is one of the perrenial big-business-headquarters and political stuff cities in the country. Based on stats alone and stuff, GW is simply a 'better' school than IU. Anyways that's just a random spattering of thoughts... main point being, I urge you to consider GW.

i say your biased if you put GWU ahead of IU, and it's a pretty bold statement to say
"GW is simply a 'better' school than IU"
you won't find many people who say that
IU is way better, the business school is great and who knows how many frats there are on campus

Haha, Mcreek, you conveniently disregarded the most important part of that sentence. The full sentence was, "Based on stats alone and stuff, GW is simply a 'better' school than IU." It's just plain to see. Go to www.collegeboard.com or www.princetonreview.com and compare the profiles of the two schools. They're almost in completely different leagues.

The IU faculty is head and shoulders above GW. So are the facilities and other assets. GW is popular but not really very good. It is what I call a location school--popular due more to the location than the quality.

Unless you are going into political science, GWU is a waste of time and money. Any self-respecting "college-knower" would know that IU is not only a top ranked business school with excellent faculty and resources, but also has great music programs, journalism programs, and other great majors. George Washington University is excellent in political science/international relations, but thats as good as it gets.

IU has a top-rated business program; GWU does not. If you want to major in business, IU is the better choice.
