Hey could you all contribute in providing the best comp science schools? Is umich one of them?

By Stanfordrulez (Stanfordrulez) on Sunday, February 15, 2004 - 03:23 am: Edit

UMich is one of them.
Caltech, MIT, Stanford, UIUC, CMU, Berkeley, to name a few.

Uhh sorry to break it to you but you don't have a great chance at Carnegie Mellon University unless you get your SAT I above 1500...CMU SCS is #1 in the nation and admissions are extremely competitive.

Wisconsin is better than Michigan for CS. Significantly better.

Hey Rohit!
I don't remember being annoyed with you...
Anyway...
I'd need to see your SAT II scores.
Also, remember that CMU costs a helluva lot and does NOT give aid to internationals.
Oopss... Just realized you're asking about UMich..
Hmm... Well, your SAT scores are nothing to write home about, though they're not bad either [this is only considering the stats on CC]...
I'm not too sure about MICH, but I'd give you a 40-60 chance of getting in.
Good luck.

Hey thanks guys! You are the best. Well in my sat 2 I got 770-phy 780 math 2c ***- writing. You would understand that I really cannot send them in. Anyway mich doesn't require sat2 right?
How is purdue? What is it good at? One of the teachers at iit classes in b'lore here brags that his students are in purdue doing grad studies? Is it as good at the ug level?

By Stanfordrulez (Stanfordrulez) on Monday, February 16, 2004 - 01:04 pm: Edit

UMICH is way better than Purdue for CS.
For Aeronautical, Purdue rocks.
Otherwise, it isn't all that great.

See... When you send your SAT [regardless of SAT I or SAT II] scores, ALL SCORES GO. Lets say if you took your SAT I in October. And your SAT IIs in December. If you send scores after December, both these scores will go.
So, they will see them.

Your INTEL thingy sounds impressive, btw.
