Did anyone here get into Agnes Scott under the scholarship decision?
If so, were you invited to scholars weekend on Sunday and Monday? Are you going?
I got in, with $10,000 a year if I don't show up for an interview, but if I do it will go up to more.

My D got in with the same scholarship, but she won't be visiting until March.
On the letter she received, they mentioned two other interview dates in the P.S., with one in Feb. and the other in March.
I wouldn't worry about not making it this weekend. By attending on one of these later dates, you'll still have the opportunity to qualify for more scholarship money.

There is one in March, but it is not as nice, supposedly. It is for the kids that were offered much smaller scholarships. Also, there will be way more kids then. (There should be at 100 this weekend)
Did you receive a parent's packet? I was told I would, but I never did. Also, the scholarship decision results came 2.5 weeks late. (This is after I was told I would hear within 2 weeks of submitting my application, and then I was later told I would hear just before Christmas) I really didn't like the whole, "Hi, you're in, please come here in 4 days" thing. Agnes Scott is really disorganized. It is turning me off to the school.

Yes, I know what you mean. We just received the package last week, which didn't leave much time to plan anything. And no, I didn't receive a parent's packet, nor was I told anything about it. What's supposed to be in it?
My D applied in mid-January, so she hasn't been waiting for the scholarship decisions as long. But I can understand your frustration.
Unmatched Socks, Will you be attending the program this weekend?

The parents packet is supposed to talk about the separate meetings and opportunities for parents while we are doing scholars weekend activities.
Yes, I am going to the program this weekend, (I live in Florida, and it is a 4 day weekend anyway) and if you like, I will tell you how it went and e-mail you pictures of the campus.

Thanks for the info.
Have a great time and let me know how it goes. And the best of luck on your interview.
I've seen the school video, but I'd love to see more pictures if you have the time to send them. It looks like they have a beautiful campus.
BTW, where do you live in Florida? We live in Arizona now, but spent a year and a half in Jacksonville a few years back.

I never trust the photos that schools put on their sites or in in their books. My mom insisted I visit Bucknell because she thought it was gorgeous and it ended up being the ugliest school I visited.
I live about 45 minutes from Gainesville. It takes about 8 hours to get to Atlanta.
Is ASC your daughter's first choice? Where else did she apply to?

My husband went to UF, so I'm somewhat familiar with Gainesville.
I made the drive to Atlanta from Jacksonville once... it wasn't too bad. Is your mom going with you?
We didn't have the resources to visit any colleges and since she'll be relying heavily on financial aid, my D cast a wide net. ASC is one of the schools she wants to explore, although I wouldn't say it's her first choice. She also applied to USD, Rhodes, Tulane, Mt. Holyoke and several others.
