I'm wondering if colleges will be a lot more impressed if i take classes at stanford (photography, salsa dancing, and art history) rather than at a community college. Is it worth the extra $$? (which my parents would pay for anyway)
Thanks
Christine

The only courses that I think would be impressive would be college-level academic courses (math, etc). Classes such as the ones you listed, it wouldn't make a difference. Presumably these are classes offered in the evening or summer and have no prerequisites to enter. Strong involvement in extracurricular activities or work, where you are developing a talent or contributing in some way to the community, will carry far more weight than simply enrolling in open-enrollment classes at a college, whether it is Stanford or a community college
