Does anyone know anything about FLORIDA Institute of Technology. I have been accepted but I have gotten very conflicting comments about this school. I do not know if to go there or Texas A&M for Marine biology.

I am going into Engineering next year, and I looked at tons of schools (all different caliburs) when making my decision (I am going to Cornell in the end). I don't think I have ever even heard of FIT. So I hope that puts it into perspective for you.

I went to visit FIT last summer. Didn't get to see any classrooms, but did see the inside of a dorm (VERY small). It's a pretty campus, and also small.

Dolphinluv: Could you tell me anything else about your visit? I assumed from your handle that you are also interested in Marine Biology, did you have a change to evaluate their MB program?

I'll be glad to tell you what little I know.. I am interested in Marine Biology and was disappointed that I didn't get to find out much about their Marine Bio. program. I did get to talk to a counsler though; he was very helpful, he said that they have a boat they go out on, and they do a lot of research. Undergraduates get invovled right from the beginning instead of having to wait until they are upperclassmen. It seemed like a pretty good school, but I think it would be helpful to visit during the school year when you can see what they do in classes.
