so, does anyone know what the deal with Bard is? i've heard mixed reviews on the school. on one hand, it's featured in the "hidden ivies" book i just saw, which seems to be a pretty decent source. a lot of people ive talked to said its a good school with good academics and programs, with generally smart and slightly "artsy kids". on the other hand, i've heard from other people that academically, it is not well-respected, and is generally full of rich stoner screw ups who aren't motivated or terribly bright. i dont know anyone who goes there, and i intend to visit, but can anyone shed some light on the school?

It is isolated. Gives the impression of summer camp in the forest, which is fine until the snow sets in. A colleague who went there some years ago said she was very lonely. The school is bigger now and that should help a bit, but face it -- the nearest town is Poughkeepsie.

Not that I judge people by what they look like or anything, but it is kinda cute how they like to look different by looking the same
