I'm fairly certain I want to study business, but know if I'm willing to commit to a business program at a large university.
Do students at Stern, Wharton, etc take courses from varied subject areas? By varied I don't mean accounting, finance, management, etc.
Also, I've noticed that there are not many small schools with business programs. The only one I can think of is Claremont McKenna. Surely, there must be others.
Does anyone know of LAC's or smaller universities strong in business, or even practical economics that allow students to study all sorts of subjects?

Well, what would your opinion be on doing flat-out Economics? You could probably tailor your courses to what you're looking to learn, and though I can't claim to know anything about business degrees in general, I would assume a bachelors in economics from a top LAC would be great for getting into an MBA program. Loads upon loads of LACs have great economics programs. Donno for sure... anyone more knowledgable in this area wanna help out? ;)

Hum... found from Wharton's MBA program website dealio:
Q15: Is an applicant at a disadvantage without previous course work in business?
A15: No. Many students at Wharton have not had business courses prior to entering the program. Generally, 40 percent of our class is made up of people with liberal arts backgrounds. (continued)
Fun fun, eh?

Check out these smaller schools with good business programs: Trinity University in Texas, Boston College, U of Denver, University of the Pacific (CA), University of San Diego, Fairfield U, Santa Clara U, Pepperdine, Bucknell. And some LAC's with business programs: Eckerd (FL), Gettysburg (Pa), Lewis and Calrk (oregon), Muhlenberg (PA), Washington and Lee (VA), Washington and Jefferson (PA), Rhodes (TN), University of Redlands (CA). I'm sure there are others but these should give you a start.
