Is it? Or is it just in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do?

What state: Indiana, Illinois, or ....?

Assuming Indiana, it is not bad. Good selection of restaurants, decent shops, a few bars and clubs. Nice scenery nearby.

Indiana. Thanks Barrons, anyone else?

Middle of nowhere with nothing to do!! You do jest! Bloomington is an incredibly fun campus, and a beautiful one as well. You can attend an opera performed by one of the finest music departments in the U.S, or watch a basketball game-all on the same weekend. See a play put on in a theatre where alum, Kevin Kline got his acting feet wet. Every major musical group or artist contracts to make a pitstop at I.U. Speaking of pitstops, every year, I.U puts on the little 500 race-using bikes. Does the movie "Breaking Away" ring a bell? Then there's the real Indy 500-held each May- just a 45 minute car ride away in Indianapolis. Rolling hills surround the campus. Stone quarries make great "swimming holes". There's truly something for everyone.

My sister lives in Bloomington and she has never complained of being bored. It is such a cute town with tons of stuff. Plus, there is a mall close by I belive. Its just like any other college town. Anywhere where there is a campus, there is SOMETHING to do.

It's ranked as the top party campus in the nation and is the current home of Douglas Hofstadter, so there's probably something for everyone. :)
