Hello-

I am currently a sophomore attending a public high school in Pennsylvania. I have a few questions concerning my choice of schedule for the next two years. First, after I finish trigonometry/analytical geometry in my junior year I am not sure whether I should take Calculus AB over the summer at a local college (in order to take Calculus BC senior year) or attend the state’s Governor’s School for Math and Science (taking Calculus AB senior year). Which would a university (such as MIT, Carnegie Mellon, etc) prefer? If my schedule permits, I will attempt to do both. I also have a question regarding the AMC/AIME tests. I have not yet taken one (math had not seriously interested me up until this year) and was wondering if I should do so next year. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Why don't you e-mail the colleges' adcoms and ask? Not only will you probably get helpful info, but I've heard that colleges keep files that document students' interest in applying.
