Any one including Carolyn know any thing about Illinois Institute of Technology? Is it a horrifying school like everyone says it to be? I heard the academics were top notch! But the dorms and the scoial life was bad there. BTW, I would major in molecular bio and biophysics there with a minor in physics. I heard it was a huge science school, and I nearly got a full ride there? So any one, what are you comments on this school? Thank you in advance!

IIT is an excellent science/technology school and dorms really are not bad (and new apartment style ones have just been built). Its biggest problem for attracting students is surrounding neighborhood, which is not that good. Social life exists but as at any tech school it is more subdued than a large university. An El-train runs through the campus providing easy transportation north to the loop (Chicago's downtown area only a few miles away) and Chicago's near north night life (just north of the loop).

I actually drove through IIT today...the campus is UGLY!
