Im a Canadian high school student who would like some more info about the differences between the two systems. From what I've researched so far, the requirements and costs of attending a Canadian university are drastically lower than if you were to go to an American one. And that got me thinking about the quality of education I can receive here. Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Don't look only at the cost. The main difference between U.S. and Canadian university costs is that in Canada, the government (taxpayers) subsidize post-secondary education to a much larger extent. Canadian students end up paying approximately 25% of the cost of their education, with the rest coming out of general tax revenues. Quality of education has little to do with this.

From what I understand, Canadian universities are sort of more 'equal' than US ones. I.e., the worst Canadian college isn't THAT much worse than the best, whereas the worst American college is prolly much worse than the best. Of course worst and best are totally relative and subjective, but whatever. Anyways, point is the education you'd get at american ivies or top 25 schools is probably (again subjectively) "better" than what you'd get at a canadian school. Also probably more personal since the good canadian schools are generally huge. I donno, I'm just rambling... that's my thoughts on it.

Well America has the best Universities and Colleges in the world, which is why students from Japan, India, Europe, Canada, and other countries come to the U.S. to go to college. Few Americans go to colleges outside the U.S. and if they do it is to a campus associated with an American college.
