Well, I live in North Carolina, so.....
My friends at Chapel Hill tell me that Chapel Hill is what they were looking for. The weather down here is nice, the springs and falls are nice and warm, but the winters tend to get a little chilly. Chapel Hill also is a very good "college town." There are a lot of activities and restaurants to enjoy. The only knock may be that Chapel Hill doens't offer too many "big-city" facilities. Chapel Hill is also quite large and diverse, so that may pose a little problem if you are looking for smaller class sizes. The intro classes are HUGE (100+ in the sciences) and are mostly taught by TA's (pretty much like every other big city).
Hope that was a help.
