Help~
I have volunteered a lot, because I consider it an important thing to do. I never recorded how many hours I spent volunteering, cos I just thought it was a good thing to do. Now I'm concerned that not having a specific # of hours will hurt me on my college applications. What should I do?

Don't worry so much about the hours you have spent volunteering. Go to the places you have volunteered at (if you volunteered a lot for them) and ask them to write a recommendation for you. These recommendations could be even more valuble than a teacher's recommendation.

You're so right, amy zon. Someone I know got into a great school not too long ago with ordinary grades and test scores (4.0 weighted; 1300's; I'm convincned it's because the local assemblyman for whom she worked one summer said that she was the best high school student intern he had ever had, and he went on to say that she was more valuable in his office that summer than his paid staff.
