Being an ED deferral at an Ivy League, our daughter chose to be conservative and applied to fourteen schools. She has been since accepted in eight, wait listed at three and is waiting to hear from three Ivy League schools.
The four schools that have been short listed by us collectively are Barnard, New York University, Tufts, Wellesley. Her overall objective is to attend a prestigious school with a strong curriculum which will prepare her well for medical school.
If your daughter was in a similar situation which school would you recommend? Many thanks in advance for sharing your wisdom.

You need to wait until all her decisions arrive before making any final decisions. Ivy League notification is April 3 this year. There's no point in making any selection until all your options are known.

I agree with CS, LfI. Once your daughter has all of her letters, check back with us here and we'll fill you (and her) with wisdom and insight.

If possible, LFI, be sure to take advantage of any major events for admitted students at her final choices. These events are fun, low stress (everyone's already in!), and a great way to refresh one's memory of the school as well as meet a bunch of potential future classmates. Normally, there's plenty of interaction with current students, too.
The colleges you mention are all good schools, and, in my opinion, finding an environment well-suited to your daughter will be THE most important factor. How she does in her four undergrad years will be more important when she applies to med school than minor prestige differences in the name on the degree.

She did not get into the ivy league schools. Now she will visit Tufts, Barnard & Wellesley and look for the best fit amongst the three. Any areas we should particularly probe?
