yes i saw that and thats sort of what inspired to do a spin-off on specifically these two schools pros and cons. i've never really looked into williams before but after reading that thread, i might consider it.

Amherst is really pretty and whatnot, but I felt that it is kind of overwhelmed by UMass. I figured if I wanted that kind of environment, I might as well go to a big university. I liked Williams more because of its setting and its sense of community. 2000+ students is prefect. Its really pretty and a little cheaper because of their huge endowment.

williams i originally was not interested in because it soundde too much like swarthmoer in some book i read where everyone is a crazy hard studier, whereas amherst has great academics but not that sort of atmosphere. is tis true?
