Carolyn, in your opinion what is the best pre-med/physics school? A school thats has a great physics department, but also sends students to top medical schools. Your opinons are great and very helpful!
Thanks

Obviously, it all depends what you are looking for in a school - liberal arts or a university - and what your stats are. That said, some liberal Arts colleges that have very good physics programs and are also strong for med school placements include Carleton, Reed, Rhodes, Whitman, Swarthmore, Oberlin, Occidental, Harvey Mudd, Macalester, Haverford, Lawrence University, Grinnell, Case Western, Bates, and Dickinson. For universities, the list should include Princeton, Harvard, Stanford, Rice, Wake Forest, Washington U St. Louis, Boston U, Brandeis, MIT, University of Chicago. I'm sure there are others that should also be included (for instance UCBerkeley).
If you're solely focused on going to medical school - not necessarily the TOP medical school - and don't have Ivy-type stats, Juniata College in PA boasts that 100% of students applying to med school get in. They also have an early acceptance program with Tulane Medical School.

Gourman's premed ranking is:
1. Caltech, 2. MIT, 3. Yale, 4. Harvard, 5. Johns Hopkins, 6. Amherst, 7. Princeton, 8. Swarthmore, 9.Columbia, 10. Stanford
All have excellent undergraduate programs in physics, particularly Caltech, Yale and Princeton. Chicago and Brown should also be considered.
