Have you guys heard about this place? They sent me some mail, an engineering school that's being built, gives a full-ride to every student. Is there any insider-"COLLEGE CONFIDENTIAL" info on it?

Very competitive for an as yet uncredited school. I guess because it is a REALLY free ride. I'm sure it will be accredited, but it isn't yet. Their faculty looks pretty awesome, it's just such a new entity. I have a friend looking at it with mixed emotions---MIT with lots of debt or completely free ride at uncredited but up and coming..

Look on this board under "individual schools." There are a good number of posts there. There are a couple of parents who post here who have seniors applying there; maybe they'll post here.
My daughter is a freshman there. The faculty is pretty awesome, and she loves the "hand-on" from the start teaching.
If you have any questions, I'd be happy to try to answer them.

As an international student... what does is mean that it's uncredited? How does it affect the students?
Thank you,

What are your daughter's "stats," Chrisd?

Ria--since they're not accredited yet, they can't qualify for whatever the status is that's needed for international students. They are now in "candidacy status" with the regional accrediting group, NEASC, but cannot be fully accredited till they graduate a class, that will be 2006.
Stats--Would prefer not to post hers, but here's info from Olin about the 75 students making up the class of 2007:
Middle 50% of SAT scores: 1440-1540
Avg. GPA: 4.41/4.0 scale
29 Nat'l Merit Finalists
Have you ever looked at this site for stats--

Oh--it's not a completely free ride. For next year's class, it's four years full tuition scholarship, but you do pay for dorm, food, and required lap top.

Too bad, it sounds like a great college. Thank you.
