I was wondering whether there are Junior Ivy Colleges like Amherst, Swarthmore, Bates?

Does anybody know any more of such Junior Ivy Colleges? Where can I find out information on all Junior Ivy Colleges? Your help would be really appreciated.

AWS (and occasionally Wesleyan) are often called "the little Ivies."

Middlebury, Carleton, Bowdoin and Pomona are all very good as well.

Junior Ivys. Funny, I'm a double legacy at Swarthmore....I wouldn't call it a Junior Ivy. Academically, it is stronger than virtually any of the Ivys in most major areas. Not to mention, all classes are taught by full profs instead of TAs, and admission is based on merit, not your parents last name. Sorry if this comes off as snotty, but my father was accepted to both Harvard and Swarthmore, and decided to go to Swarthmore because of "greater academic rigor and overall quality of the school"

Don't forget Haverford and Bryn Mawr.

I think "junior ivy" refers to the size, not the quality.

DEFINITELY look at the book "The Hidden Ivies." It talks about schools that are of ivy caliber, and they are all small LAC. But if you're nto in teh marked for LAC (like me) you're out of luck it seems...
