what do people know about whitman? does it have a good reputation? how academically rigorous is it? any information about it would be great!

whitman's supposed to be one of the greatest schools in washington state... and the pacific northwest for that matter.

Well i live in the Seattle Area and a couple of my friends go to Whitman. First of all yes, it is one of the best colleges in the Area, probably the best in the state. Everybody that i talk to loves it, apparently the prof's are extremely approachable and friendy, along with the student body. The school is really small, only around 1400 students. My friends say it is very rigorous, they make you write a lot of essays, but you will definately be getting a great education. I guess the downside to it is that it is in the middle of nowhere. Walla Walla Washingon isn't exactly the place to be, also the student body lacks diversity, it's mainly white uper middle class folk. It is also very liberal, if your a conservative watch out.

Overall i would say it is a great academic experience, I would visit the campus before i went there though, just to make sure you like the small college feel.
