These are also my daughter's two areas to major in. Are you interested in print journalism or broadcast? She is looking at Pepperdine because of the quality of their theatre arts dept. and their broadcast journalism major. To other colleges that pop into my head are USC and Syracuse, both stronger for journalism than theatre arts.

I'm sure others here will provide suggestions. I am more familiar with schools with good theatre arts departments in the West than I am which have strong journalism departments. Good theatre schools are Pepperdine, USC, Northwestern, Southern Methodist U., Carnegie Melon, Rutgers, and NYU.

UNC has exceptionally strong journalism and dramatic arts programs.

Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism is one of the best in the country, and their drama program is first rate as well

Syracuse has an EXCELLENT drama department that regularly sends kids on to broadway, etc. as well as one of the top broadcast journalism departments in the country. You better double check about the possibility of a dual major at any school, however, as these are both majors that require a high level of time and commitment.
Good luck.
