Does anyone have any feedback about New College of Florida? Thus far my top three choices are U. of Florida, FSU and New College(have been accepted into all 3), but I am unsure which is the best for me. Some people tell me how great of a school New College is while others think it is a school filled with "odd" people and "hippies". Any information would be greatly appreciated about any of these three schools, as I am very interested in all of them. By the way, I am interested in Social Sciences (Political Science, Pre-Law, etc). Thanks.

U. of Florida is the flagship school of the three, but I'd suggest both visiting and looking at individual departments (if you have an idea of a probably major). Music and communications, for example, are strong at FSU.
Of the three, I've seen only the FSU campus. It is quite pleasant, with plenty of mossy trees, etc. - not what a Midwesterner expected. FSU calls its campus "compact" at 400 acres. If you decide to apply there, be sure to check out the Honors program and/or application-only dorms - the facilities are a cut above the rest, and your dorm-mates are likely to be a more selective group.

Thanks a lot for the information Roger! I will do more research as to which school is best for my major. Good advice. Would you happen to know anything about which school would be best for a Political Science/Law School Prep major? Thanks again!

I attend USF in Tampa and am a Political Science major. Several of the professors here are FSU alumni. None of the three are incredible for poli sci. Honestly if your grades are good enough and finances allow, I would attend Stetson University. Excellent political science and law school. If your dead set on the three choices you have, I would suggest UF. FSU typically is hard set in very liberal view points and tends to suppress any "outside" views. UF, in my opinion, allows more open discussion. New college can get you a poli sci degree but at present I dont believe has the law school and overall it is convenent to get both from the same school. Hope this helps.
