The less fixated and obsessed you are with getting into "the" school, the better. If you're going to grad school, the school you get your grad degree comes from matters a lot more when you're looking for jobs. Also, your grades at your undergrad program mean a lot, and just because you don't do your undergrad at the University of Nebraska and not Princeton doesn't mean you can't get into Harvard's grad school. If you have a good GRE score and good grades, you can be competitive.

I met a woman in Boston a few weeks ago--my cousin's house mate. She went to Harvard law. Her undergraduate degree was from Wheaton college (the Mass. one) and she got a master's in art history at University of Washington in Seattle before going to Harvard. She of course, had stellar grades all the way through. So, yeah. Go somewhere you can be happy and kick it.

It does matter where you do your undergrad at due to various factors. Rule of thumb, try to attend to best undergraduate institution you can. But don't kill yourself if you end up at a less prestigious school. And as some others said, you can still make it to a greater institution by performing really well in undergrad.
Undergrads can transfer to a more prestigious school if they have the grades, and if they want. But, it is difficult to transfer into any prestigious school because space is limited. Prestigious schools have HIGH retention rates, so many students return and don't transfer or drop-out. Acceptance rates are pretty low in regards to transfer admissions. And secondly, if a prestigious school does accept one as a transfer, they will not offer much financial aid. It's usually not a good idea to transfer unless the school you are currently at just really sucks and is screwing you over.
Lastly, just make the best of your situation. And don't kill yourself during undergrad because you presume that graduate school is the next step you should take. You might not want to go to graduate school later on. Work hard, but also enjoy your time in college. For most of us, those years were the best years of our lives. Might sound sad, but it's true. Many colleges students dont know how good they have it. So take your time in undergrad, work hard, have fun. Dont take it for granted.
