Hi. As senior year gets closer to "the deadline," I'm in the middle of my high school crisis. Although I looked at some schools this summer, I really don't have any clearcut favorite. I hope that perhaps some people could offer me some suggestions based on "who I am."

I'm Asian girl. This really doesn't matter to me--I'm adopted, so I've basically known the typical American upbringing my entire life. Diversity is something I could go either way with.

I want to major in English. It's by far my strongest subject and I love literature, reading, writing, and generally just thinking. This is my biggest concern: I want to go to a school that will offer me one of the very best educations in the field, and I do think I could handle "the best."

Schools--I really don't care about the size. Typically, I'd prefer something over 1,500 and possibly under Penn State size, although I'm willing to compromise. Generally, I want to be in PA, NJ, NY, or MD. I don't really want to "outstep" my comfort zone.

Some stats, for possibility of acceptance:
1370 SAT (630m, 740v)
SAT IIs, not yet returned:
Literature
Writing
US History
AP US History: 4
Taking Sociology at the CC.
GPA: 3.6, low A range with weight. Math and science are not my strong points.

Activities/Awards/Etc. etc. etc.
NHS (11, 12)
WWII reenactment (10-12)
Shaolin kung fu, brown belt (4 years)
School publication (9-12, web editor)
Local teen paper (11-12, wk. experience)
Wellseley Book Award
Track and Field (9-12)
Volunteering with ESL program at community college

I also write creative fiction.

That's all, I think. Or at least of enough importance that I could actually remember off the top of my head. I recieved an excellent recommendation from my English teacher, and am expecting my history teacher's to be good as well.

Thanks for any and all replies. :)

I don't just want a good writing school though. I'd like to study literature.

Writing, as I see it, would be an added bonus.
