Can any one name any schools that have good ceramics and really good academics?

Thanks!

Alfred University in NY comes immediately to mind.

I agree - Alfred is THE school for people interested in ceramics and/or ceramics technology and has very good academics as well.
Other possiblities: Bennington, Bowling Green, Colorado State, East Carolina (NC), U of Miami, Rhode Island School of Design, Syracuse, Temple, University of Washington.

Not just ceramics though -- ceramics in addition to very strong academics. So, not art schools like RISD.

And yeah, Alfred kicks a profound amount of ass. But getting into Alfred's undergrad ceramics art program is like getting into harvard -- only harder.

But I'll look into those others! Which ones are private and which are state schools?

Public: the University of Washington, Colorado State, East Carolina, Bowling Green. All the rest are private.
Let us know what you find out.

Ooh, are East Carolina (aka "E-Z U") and academics really that good of a match? Just a bit of a heads-up...
