I'm am interested in a liberal college that is accepting of gay people and can prepare me for law school, med school, or grad school. I haven't decided but i am leaning towards grad school in social psychology. The majors i'm interested in are:
1.neuroscience/psychobiology/biology/premed
2.psychology(nonscience areas)
3.sociology
4.Chicano studies
5.Latin American Studies
I am a "hispanic" and I am probably going to do some sort of double major and maybe a minor or 2. The colleges I have in mind right now are:
UC Berkeley
UCLA
UC Santa Cruz
UC Riverside
Pitzer College
San Francisco State
My Stats:
SAT=1260 (Should i take it agian?)
SAT2: Math=650 Writing=600 Spanish=760
AP: Calc AB=5 Spanish Lang=5 English Lit=3
Currently taking AP: Government,US Hist,Engligh Lang,Spanish Lit, and Bio.
Rank 1 out of 130 from a crappy public school, I'm taking all honors and AP's offered.
Haven't done much EC's but i founded a club this year (MEChA), I'm VP of Los Amigos club, and not much else. O, I have a job this year approx. 2 hrs after school everyday.
Also another thing, I'm poor. I'm lower middle class right now but most of my life i've been lower than that. When I think of private colleges I imagine it filled with rich whites, am I wrong?
So What do you think? I am looking for some recommendations of where to apply and if the colleges I listed will work for me. i have already looked at everything else so don't send me to the fiske guide ok. Plz help me

All the schools on your list will work for you (with the possible exception of UCRiverside - not sure how big the Gay community is there so check it out). You might also take a look at USC.
I'd also suggest you take a look at these out of state schools where you will find welcoming communities and should have a good shot at decent financial aid that will put them into the range of UC costs. Your stats and URM status should put you in the running for all of these schools: Grinnell, Carleton, Guilford, Earlham, Hendrix, Reed, Macalester, NYU, Oberlin, Vassar, Wesleyan.
Good luck.

USC is very pricey but it gives lots of student aid. Your SATs though, except for Spanish, are a little low for USC. Look at the discussion under "S" in individual colleges section: "Could I get into USC???" It will give you some guidance on approaching USC.

Good advice above. You should think about retaking the SATs, but only if you can budget a good amount of time to study for them, using on-line resources, 10 Real SATs book and whatever current study materials you can find at school or in the library.
