Sounds like you want to be an engineer.

Good selection of northeast schools. As long as you're getting into Maryland, check out UMBC... and University of Delaware too.

What is this UMBC you speak of? Also i would like to give some stats about myself so people can comment on what they think my chances are. I have a 1210 SAT I , and im looking to get around a 1300 when i retake this october. I go to a very Competitive Highschool , it is ranked #1 in New Jersey.. and Among the best of the Country. This makes things very competitive. I have about a 3.3 gpa , it will go up with the addition of Senior Year ( most likely). I have a good amount of extracuricullars not to many but not little either. I also have work experience as well as volunteering. Although im not sure exactly what i want to be i think i want to be an Engineer..

University of Maryland College Park is going to be a reach with 1210 and 3.3. UMBC is the University of Maryland Baltimore County. It's in the southwestern suburbs of Baltimore City (and an easy drive to Washington). A bit less competitive than UMCP, but a fine school with a consistantly improving reputation. It was one of the Newsweek "hot schools" last year.

Good list and good advice.

UMBC also has the nation's top college chess team, don't they?

Yes. They've won several national championships in chess and give chess scholarships!
