i'm thinking of applying E.D. to Connecticut college...could anyone please offer any good/bad info they have on the school..esp anyone who goes there. Thanks!

Hi! I'm thinking the very same thing! I really need someone to talk to about it though.. I'm not sure right now. I really love the curriculum and the school in general. I think it's only petty stuff that annoys me. The campus wasn't one of my favorites but I still liked it. What do you think? Like, what reasons do you have for applying ED there?

well i guess i liked their theater program (I wanna be a theater major and a music minor) and like their are lots of oppurtunities to study abroad...the reason i am hesitant to apply early is cause i really would like to wait and see where elese I get in...but im afraid i will not get in if i don't apply e.d. cause my stats are not super high....what are ur stats and reasons for applying? Do u know anyone who goes there and what they think of it

Yeah, I think the same thing. Acceptance rate goes up with ED so I'm nervous about where to apply. I liked the school because they offer extensive English and East Asian programs as well as study abroad. Plus, I like the atmosphere of LAC colleges and the fact that this one doesn't have sororities or frats. But anyway, my stats are rougly a 3.7 gpa, 28 currently on ACTs (thought I took it over). And what else? I'm taking a few ap courses right now.

I know you want to talk to current students and sorry I am not one. My daughter is applying to Connecticut College and we have visited there (last Feb.) and she also just had an interview. I could tell our impressions but more importantly, my suggestion to you is twofold: 1) do not apply ED unless you feel certain you want to go there....that it is a true first choice. yes, ED increases the odds but only should be attempted if one is SURE they want to attend above all other schools on their list.; 2) I am thinking perhaps you have not yet visited the campus? I think that is essential in general but particularly if you are applying ED and committing to this school. You ask what it is like for students there and the best way to find out is to go and ASK THEM directly.....we did, as we do at each school my daughter is applying to. I highly recommend you visit, set up various meetings with those in your interest area, and randomly approach kids to ask their view on things, see their dorm rooms, etc. etc.

Wishing you much luck. Conn College is a fine place. Way back when..... I got in there... though admittedly, did not attend. Funny my daughter ended up with this school on her list all these years later.

i actually did visit the campus, and really liked it...i guess I'm just really scared of going E.D., I find the whole binding thing very intimidating. However Conn is a core school for me (witch means a 50-50 chance of getting in) and I would be very dissapointed not to get in...I guess I am just gonna have to keep thinking about it...let me know what you decide to do!

It's the same for me boatboat--basically a 50/50 chance, I'm pretty sure. My ACT score's in their range and I guess I fit their student profile but still.. they're soo selective! It worries me. I really liked the stony campus buildings and the arbo-pond. By the way, I had an interview there and it was so great. I walked around for an hour with a cute senior and it was very relaxed. I think it really helps. If you haven't had one, you should.

yeah i had an interview....your right it did help! The interviewer was really nice, she recently visited my school last week as while. Hahahah, your lucky you got a cute senior, though! By the way did you know that Conn has two rounds of early decision? so like if your not sure yet if u wanna go e.d. you can apply in like December or something and still be considored for e.d. I'm still debating e.d so i'm not sure yet, I think I am leaning away from e.d....I'm just too scared of being legally bounded to a school!
