I just got a packet that lists my entire senior class last year, what colleges they applied to, their stats (minus ECs), and whether or not they got in. Ask me about a particular college and I'll post you stats and results... in the morning. It's bedtime for me.

For reference, I go to a competitive NY public high school that I believe is ranked in the top 20 in NYS. A 94 avg and above is in the top 10% of the class. OK, here goes.

Yale - 97, 1600 SAT, undecided major, accepted
- 98, 1600 SAT, pre-med, waitlisted
- 97, 1540 SAT, economics, waitlisted
- 97, 1430 SAT, pre-med, rejected

Columbia - no one ever gets in from our school. We had a 98 w/ 1520, a 97 with a 1540, and a 95 with a 1400 all rejected outright.

Cornell - keep in mind that we are applying from a NY high school to a part-state school, so we have a slight advantage.

- Everyone with a 95 avg and above were accepted with the exception of two. They both had a 95 avg, one was rejected with a 1500, one was waitlisted with a 1400.

- 94 avgs, mixed acceptances and waitlists. One rejection with a 1220 SAT applying to engineering. SATs also typically around 1400.

- 93, 1340, accepted into biology
- 92, 1350, accepted into engineering science

Everyone with a 92 and below with the exception of one were rejected

Vassar - 97, 1600, accepted
- 92, 1170, rejected

NYU - Everyone with a 94 avg and above got in. The lowest SAT in that range was a 1230. No one with below a 94 avg got in.

Colgate - Almost the same as NYU. Everyone with a 94 and above got in with the exception of two waitlists. The SATs weren't incredibly high, anywhere from 1250 - 1380 for the acceptances. No one with below a 94 got in.

BU - Everyone with above a 90 avg got in, including those with SATs as low as 1150. The only two rejections were an 89 and 88 avg, with 1190 and 1320 SATs respectively.

Wesleyan

- 96, 1420, accepted. I know this kid personally and he's a good guy and very involved in sports and other ECs.
- 95, 1420, rejected.

Middlebury

- 97, 1600, waitlisted
- 96, 1420, waitlisted
- 95, 1460, accepted

I could only guess that the first kid was considered to be unlikely to attend so was waitlisted. There were no applications to Williams or Bowdoin from my school.

Hope this has been helpful.

No applications to any of the above except for UPenn. It doesn't specifically list what school in Penn they applied to, but I'll list all those who applied with intended majors in business.

Economics - 97, 1540, rejected
Accounting - 94, 1380, rejected

I am currently a senior in high school and I'm very interested in the 6 year med program at the University of Missouri- Kansas City. I am in the top 2% of my class but I don't think I'll get accepted because my ACT score is only a 25. I'm also interested in programs where you're guaranteed a seat in the university's med school if you keep your grades up. If anyone knows of any programs similar to the ones I have mentioned, then PLEASE HELP. I would like to stay in Missouri, but I am open to anywhere in the U.S.
~Thanks

Jasmine-I've done my research and from the people I've talked to, the Missouri program really isn't too great if it matters. That is, compared to the other schools with this program. However, if you wouldn't mind going to MIssouri even if you didn't get in this program, and you defintely want to go into medicine, then go for it.

I'm using a few from last year's application profile as well in this post just to increase the numbers you have to look at.

** Last year's profile **

96, 1520, accepted
Last year, everyone with below a 96 was rejected.

** This year's profile **

94, 1380, waitlisted
94, 1330, accepted (legacy applicant)
93, 1470, waitlisted
92, 1410, rejected
90, 1320, rejected

I don't have profiles for any of those California schools except one rejection from Stanford with a 96, 1490.

Tufts - I'm sorry, but we have a million kids apply to Tufts every year and I don't feel like listing all of them. The admissions are all over the board for that one, with kids who have 97 avgs being rejected and kids with 92 avgs being accepted.

Jeff,
Thanks for sharing your school's results but most of these students have GPAs of 88 plus. I'm curious about kids who aren't at the top GPA wise --- Could you look through your list and tell us some the names of the schools where kids with lower GPAs and lower SATs got accepted? You, know, the kids who had GPAs in the low to mid 80s and SATs in the 1100-1250 range. Thanks!
Carolyn
