I am thinking about whether to apply to University of Maryland and/or Salisbury University. I was wondering if anyone knew more about the academics, difficulty of admissions, social life, and reputations of these schools. Thanks!

UMBC is a commuter school. However, the residence halls are decent and people have fun in Baltimore. Great professors, good course selection. Up and coming 'honors college of Maryland.' Used to be a haven for students preparing for transfer to UMD College Park or other colleges - has a great reputation of delivering a solid education.
Salisbury is much less selective - so I would say that unless it has much more program depth in your area of interest, choose UMBC instead.
What about St. Mary's? Big raves about that place.
