I have suddenly decided that I want to become a doctor, what are some really good med/pre med schools/programs? preferably in Texas. Any info would be stinkin' awesome! Thanks in advance.

The best choice in Texas would be Rice. Trinity University in Texas is also a very good school for pre-med. Southwestern University is another school to look at. Also, Southern Methodist U.

Rice has a 96% admission rate to med school and incredible MCAT averages. Rice/Baylor is the top ranked combined program, but also probably the toughest to get into. With only 15 admitted per year it consists largely of students who declined offers from Harvard, Yale, Duke, etc.

Any school with good science programs is good for premed. My favorite premed schools are (in no particular order):

Harvard, Columbia, Cornell, JHU, Berkeley, Stanford, and Yale.

what about Northwestern?

By Brown_Man (Brown_Man) on Tuesday, July 29, 2003 - 08:19 pm: Edit

northwestern... i know its a good premed school. all the ivy league schools and other schools with the same caliber are all good premed schools.

Advice for SONY: Find out more info abt Berkeley premed. If you are after attention and support, i think you should go to a school like harvard.
no offense to cal people.... i know a lot of premeds at berkeley... they complain about the lack of attention. i guess it seems like there's too many people there.
