Anyone know anything about the Claremont colleges? Are they really as good as their brochures make them out to be? Lifestyle? Things to do? People?

I know atmosphere is supposed to be nice. Which college are you really looking at?

My initial reaction from the brochures sucked, but after I visited it, I got a better sense of what they were. I didn't visit Pomona until I got in, and I will be attending next fall. Since I haven't actually attended yet, I might not be of much use, but I did stay a weekend there. Everyone is pretty laid back, and there is always something to do on at least one of the colleges. Harvey Mudd always has some weird parties and I think people venture onto CMC a lot. The people that I met were really nice and I didn't feel any cut-throat competition. Let me know if you have anymore questions, I can try to find out for you, but make sure you visit!

My pops teaches at CMC. The Claremont Colleges are great...except for Pitzer and Scripps. But CMC, Pomona, Mudd, are known as the West Coast Ivies. Quite exclusive, and great schools.

I live near claremont, and have been to the campuses a few times. I don't know too much about the schools except that they're mostly focused on Liberal Arts, but i can tell you that they are really really nice campuses

What's the weather like? Temperature ranges, humidity, how hot you feel it is?

The weather was perfect when I went (Mid-Late April). Probably high in the mid 70's. You can't beat California weather. This web address might help you with the weather year round.

One thing I wasn't used to was that it did get colder at night, because there's no humidity to hold in the heat like in the midwest, which is where I'm from. Basically what the temperature is, is how it feels.
