1. The school has to be in/near a big city, or in an area where there are a lot of other colleges (both will be great, of course, but either of these would do).
2. The school must have a very flexible academic program (an open curriculum or manageable core requirements. Manageable=like they have in NYU).
3. It has to offer a large variety of studio/performing arts courses, which are available to all students, not only majors.
4. It must have a strong sense of community.
5. The school must be tolerant toward people like me (I'm a semi-goth).
6. It has to have a medieval studies program (a history program with a medieval concentration is also good).
8. They should be in the New England or Midwest region.
Every school I've found fulfilled only some of these requirements.... it wouldn't have mattered if it was one of the small things, but they always lacked the more important things.
