Any ideas on schools with good geography departments? Son is a rising junior, 32 ACT (first try, will retake). He enjoys Geography, Econ, Environment and Chem. Loves to ski so cold weather would be nice. Homeschooled, not super competitive, just likes to learn. Thanks! ( I posted this on the other forum and they suggested I put it here.)

Finding a college with certain strengths has little to do with whether a student was home schooled or not. The user "Carolyn" seems to specialize in knowing which colleges excel is certain areas.

Gee, I wonder why? I agree with Sheeprun. This really is a general college question not specific to homeschoolers. I think you should try again on College Search & Selection. No need to even include that he's homeschooled.

There actually seem to be very few homeschoolers at CC. Or at least, the homeschooling board here is much less active than the other boards. If you would like to connect with other homeschooling families going thru the college app process, there is an email list on yahoo groups called "homeschool2college" that might be helpful. But that list tends to focus on questions unique to homeschoolers - like how to do a homemade transcript. Your original question would be better answered here at CC, but outside the homeschooling forum.
