Just wondering...what states have little to no interferrence in what is being taught at home?
I am out of highschool, but in case I ever have kids I would like to know from people who have experience...
Also, last year I saw a story on O'Reilly in which he had a couple on who were being harassed by the government regarding the homeschoolinf o ftheir kids...well, this is a tactic tha tthe media loves to use. It showed shots of the children.....the boy playing a video game!
They did that on purpose...why? Nevermind what O'Reilly was verbally saying, but the implication was that the parents just let the kids sit around and play video games all day and not teach them anything.
I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but it was very clever of FOXNews...but they could not fool me as I noticed what they were doing right off the bat.
They want to make it look like the kids are not learning anything at home....and even IF they were not being taught about Columbus sailing the ocean blue, IT'S NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS!!
Ever so slowly, parents rights are taken away and their children are becoming the property of the state. Things will get worse in the future...brace yourselves.

We homeschool in Oklahoma. Our state constitution guarantees our right to homeschool. I have also homeschooled in Texas, and know that it is protected there also. Good luck!

I homeschool in MI. and am told(since we just moved) that there is no mandatory testing here, but I havent looked it up myself, so I might be mistaken. Before we moved to MI, we were harrassed by virtually everyone we knew who didn't homeschool(including family) to the degree where we were dragged into court many times. We were meeting and/or exceeding all testing and nobody could deny our maturity level, but we still suffered greatly from stress caused from the constant harrassment. So the decision was made to move over the border and even though our school district is severely limiting homeschoolers options of courses and classes that homeschoolers can take at the school, there are a lot of advantages and a lot less stress! hopes this helps some.
