New! Super Senior Year Counseling Package. This program is for the applicant (and his or her family) with complex circumstances. It is designed for those with special needs (ADHD, dyslexia, or other disabilities), for returning students, homeschoolers, international students, for candidates aiming for colleges that may be just out of reach, etc. The package includes all the services of our regular Senior Year Package (above) plus assistance with two additional unique major essays (for a total of four) and two one-hour phone consultations, for a real-time discussion of special circumstances, interview prep, or any associated needs. If these phone consultations aren’t needed, they may be exchanged for help with one additional main essay. The Super Senior Package is our best single-counselor service. If your needs may require team counseling (two counselors), see our HYbrid Program (HYP) below. (See Payment Terms.) Investment: $6,500
College Confidential's HYbrid Program ("HYP"). HYP is the result of popular demand. Parents wanted a counseling program that provides more services than our Junior-Senior-Year and Senior-Year-only packages, but one that is not quite as comprehensive (or costly) as our IGAP. So, we took a look at all of our programs, decided to merge some critical components of various packages and services, and came up with our HYbrid. HYP includes all the services of our Senior-Year Package plus the following upgrades: - The HYP Team. Our Director of Counseling, Dave Berry, will personally lead a team of College Confidential counselors who will be involved in all aspects of the client's college-application review process. Multiple viewpoints simulate a real-world, admissions-committee review process. - Unlimited Essay Help. Applicants will get assistance on all application essays, even when multiple, unique, major essays are required. Also included is assistance with those short, but important, narrative responses ("What did you do this past summer?" etc.). There is a very heavy writing requirement in elite applications and the applicant's task can be quite imposing, to say the least. Essays are where many otherwise qualified applicants lose their ability to compete. HYP's comprehensive essay services can make a significant difference. - Type and temperament analysis and profiling. This process helps with potential college and major matching. Applicants will be evaluated using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) or our own Temperament Snapshot process (as described America's Elite Colleges). The applicant and his/her parents will receive in-depth profile information along with full interpretations. (See Payment Terms.) Investment: $10,000 NEW! Musical Theater and Drama Counseling Package. This exciting package provides the services of a College Confidential counselor who is not only skilled in every aspect of college advising but also in the exacting demands of musical theater and drama programs. The package includes all the services of our regular Senior Package, above: college selection, assessment of admissibility; two full-length essays, application reviews, etc., plus guidance through the audition process and preparation of special requirements, including selection of audition material, headshots, and compilation of a theatrical résumé. Parents and students often underestimate the rigor and competition of musical theater admissions, and this package offers a unique opportunity to navigate the maze with an expert guide. (See Payment Terms and Musical Theater Counseling Testimonials.)
Junior/Senior Musical Theater and Drama Counseling Package. The complex theater-program selection, application, and audition process should ideally begin early in the junior year of high school. This package provides all of the services of the Senior Package and the Musical Theater and Drama Counseling Package (above) plus it offers help with the selection of extracurriculars, summer activities, and senior classes, and it addresses other long-range needs of aspiring performers.
(See Payment Terms.) Musical Theater and Drama Transfer Counseling Package. This package combines the services of our regular Transfer Package (see below) and the Musical Theater and Drama Counseling Package (above). It is aimed at students who are already specializing in musical theater or drama--as well as those who wish to but are currently not. The package provides extensive assistance with the selection of appropriate colleges and theater programs (BA, BM, or BFA) and with all other aspects of the complex application and audition process..
(See Payment Terms.) Full Junior and Senior Year Counseling Package. The best value
for the family who can start early enough, and wants professional guidance
not only during the admissions process in the senior year but also during
the critical junior year. A combination of the full Junior and Senior
packages. (See Payment Terms.) Transfer Counseling Package. While most students will attend the
same school for four years, there are times when a transfer makes sense.
A change in majors can also dictate a different college, or strong academic
performance in a student's first year or two may provide a realistic chance
for admission to a more elite university. Unfortunately, the odds of a
successful transfer application can be as low or lower than those of being
admitted directly from high school. College Confidential will help with
the entire transfer application process - assessing the chances at individual
schools, identifying other possibilities, developing a transfer strategy,
essay and application reviews (up to two unique major essays), and full-year
availability of experienced counseling. (See Payment
Terms.)

For students who need specialized help with
just one part of the college search or admissions process, or who have
other needs that aren't met by a standard College Confidential package,
a la carte college counseling is available on an hourly basis. Contact
us by e-mail for an estimate of time required to meet your needs, and
for discount pricing on prepurchased blocks of 5, 10, and 20 hours. Pre-Junior Counseling. By the time a student is filling out applications,
he or she often becomes aware of gaps in extracurriculars, academics,
or other aspect of his or her high school career. A small investment in
early counseling can help the student develop a well-rounded resume while
enjoying the high school experience. Avoiding last-minute panic situations
will minimize stress and insure the student is well-prepared when application
time comes. Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
Process. The MBTI is a world-renowned psychological instrument
that determines individual differences. It is used in business and education
for career counseling, team building, conflict resolution, and management
development. College Confidential uses the MBTI to promote understanding
between students and parents by revealing the student's preferred communication
style. The MBTI demonstrates that so-called "random behavior"
is actually predictable, based on a person's view of the world and expressed
preferences between the poles of four scales: extraversion and introversion,
sensing and intuition, thinking and feeling, and judging and perceiving.
These preferences define one of four main temperaments and one of 16 distinct
personality types, each with its own way of looking at the world, each
with its own strengths and personal challenges. Over two-and-a-half million
people took the MBTI last year. It is perfect for determining college
majors and careers for high schoolers who don't know which direction to
go. IMPORTANT - Read our Services
