The "Loud Angry Voice from Offstage"Tune in any evening on your average cable channel of choice and you'll see the classic point-counterpoint "discussions" in progress (more accurately: "three-to-four people speaking loudly all at once"). In any event, regardless of our viewpoint, especially that which we're discussing here, there will be naysayers, critics, and arrogant gasbags who will attack our line of reasoning. I'm giving them a small place here as the "Loud Angry Voice from Offstage," which will act as a foil and speak for The Common Opposition. One practical benefit of having this offstage voice speak up is learning what to expect when you advocate some of the approaches I suggest. Just view The Voice as someone you love to hate, since there seems to be one in almost every gathering. |
